Dough Boy #2 - Biscuits

This is Dough Boy #2 - The 'Official' Biscuit Maker of The Frye's

This DB can eat his weight in biscuits so there is a reason he likes making these. We usually double the recipe so there are 'snacks' for the next day or so. The boys call the leftover biscuits 'hard-tack' which is what the critters eat in Redwall. Here is our recipe - a friend from church gave us this. We usually try to use 1/2 white - 1/2 wheat flour.

4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups milk/buttermilk

1) First - mix all ingredient together

2) After mixed, flour rolling surface and roll out flat.

3)Knead 10 times

4)Roll out and cut biscuits.

5) Preheat oven to 425. Place on baking sheet/ stone.

6) Bake for approx 12 minutes - smoother with butter and jelly and ENJOY!!
