Meet Doughboy #3

This is the official tortilla maker of the house : ) (He also wants to be the pancake man but that is still a fight among them all who can do those.) DB 3 is a maniac on the tortilla maker and even crazier on his drums.

So here is him in action.......

This batch was made using a store bought mix - just add water and go.

The other recipe with use is as follows: 4 cups flour (can sub 1-2 c. wheat flour), 2 tsp salt, 1/2 crisco (can sub with half butter) with & 1 1/2 cups water. Mix flour and salt in large bowl. Cut crisco in with a pastry blender. Stir water in with fork (may not need all water). Knead until smooth and nice - not sticky. Make into golf sized balls, grease as needed. Cover the bowl and let rest for 45 min. Roll out flat or use press and cook.

1) Dough is mixed and kneaded

2) Make into golf balls and rest for 45 minutes (overnight in the refrig is fine too)

3) Next flatten a little in your hands and put on press. Push down.

4. Lift and flip (sometimes they do stick to top)

Here's DB3 cheesy smile for the camera. Is that smoke coming from the tortilla maker?? If that happens they will be crunchy!!

5) The finished product. Very Very TASTY!!!
