We are all about food....

We bought these cute little pumpkins for the seeds but decided to try and make a REAL pumpkin pie. It was a family project for sure.

1) First you slice and gut the pumpkins. Place on a baking sheet and bake slow.


2. The you let cool and then peel. This was weird. The whole peel basically came off in one piece. Looked like giant earthworms when we were done.





4) Get DB 1 to make up some of his tasty pie crust.
4) Here DB 1 is mixing up the pie filling. Our biggest tip is to run the pumpkin thru the blender first - this made it nice and smooth like the store bought kind.


5) Ready for the oven.


6) Straight out of the oven.


7) The family decision about how good this was.....

next time you can do it and call it a geography lesson....in Australia they bake them like that and just eat it as a side veggie
